Why Choose Wellbeing?
One of the most important challenges that we currently face, in managing our own health and Wellbeing is finding quality health information.  To do that we may need assistance in learning to distinguish between 2 types of science. The first science is that which we look to for guidance. It is science done for the sake on interest.  A person develops a deep abiding interest in a subject and researches and studies that subject until they develop mastery over that field.  They then start to experiment to find out what they do not know and start to publish that new knowledge.  I refer to this as quality science.
The Second science I call poor science.  It is science/research, normally done by a corporation or business to bring a product to market.  It is the research that is done to prove that something is true or false.  It starts with an agenda and then sets out to prove that agenda.  It is a bit like George Bush and the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction incident.  The reality often proves to be a poor cousin to the original story.
As a Nutrition Educator I often run across the second science. eg: It is the gym company proving that overweight is bad for you, or the pharmaceutical company ‘ proving’ that this drug/supplement is safe.
Most of us are looking for information that will allow us to make healthy choices in life, myself included. We want to be healthy and active, to eat good quality food that supports our Wellbeing and to enjoy life.  Instead we are now looking at 25 percent or more of all deaths are cancer related.  In the western systems doctors often kill more people than heart disease does.  And many of the pharmaceuticals we take are to control symptoms brought on by other pharmaceuticals we take.
We need a better way!
This business, the Wellbeing workshop, is dedicated to bringing you healthy information, that will encourage informed choices.
