Hydration
Water – I once heard a GP state about how much water we should drink – She said – ‘it’s simple, if you’re thirsty have a drink’. Now, I don’t know where that doctor practices but I think they should be stripped of their medical license. Anyone with half an idea about how the body works will know that when you’re thirsty dehydration is already damaging your body.
The basic rule of thumb is – 1 litre of water per 25kg of body weight (give or take) & 25% of that should be consumed first thing of a morning as your body loses a lot of fluid over night.
Did you know that over 70% of all disease in the body is initiated by dehydration? There is scientific research that supports the theory that drinking enough Healthy Water can prevent many diseases from taking hold.
Would you agree that drinking enough water each day is a small price to pay to have a healthy body? There are several Water Filtration Systems on the market and we can guide you to the best one for you. Please also realize that ANY filtered water is better than what comes out of the tap.

I agree that most of us don’t usually drink enough water. However, I’d always wondered whose “thumb” made up that rule re: water……could never find anything specific as to origin. Then, I learned a wonderfully simple assessment that calculates hydration level as a function of saliva pH level and the specific gravity (concentration) of the urine. Made so much sense (especially considering that years ago when we tended not to be so “acidic” (maybe, in part, ’cause we weren’t eating so much sugar/high fructose corn syrup junk) that we didn’t seem to need to carry around containers of water to drink…..
Hi Mary. The “rule of thumb” comes from a throw away comment on a Boston radio show in the 1970′s. The radio announcer asked a doctor how much water should he be drinking. It was autumn and the doctor gave the estimate of 6 glasses.
That figure is completely irrelevant to most people on earth as it is for a period of mild temperatures and medium humidity in Boston.
One of the worst misuses of a quote I have ever come across! Very sad really.
